What is the difference between an IN-NETWORK and OUT OF NETWORK Provider ?
When a doctor signs up with your insurance company’s network, that doctor is considered an "IN-NETWORK PROVIDER". This means you'll get your dental care at lower prices that have been predetermined by your insurance company. The "IN-NETWORK" doctor cannot charge you more than the predetermined fees. An "OUT OF NETWORK" provider can still accept your insurance, but that doctor does not have to accept your insurance company's fees, it can become a lot more expensive because the OUT OF NETWORK doctor can charge any fees he or she wants to. In Network fees are always lower than out of network fees. OUT OF NETWORK fees will also exhaust more of your insurance coverage and max out your yearly allowance faster as well as costing you more out of pocket.
HMO and DHMO plans
These plans are different. They usually don't have any coverage for out-of-network care.
